**Position Summary**:
The Learning Resource Centre Officer is responsible for supporting the College Learning Resource
Centre Manager in realising the College Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Vision Statement at their
campus LRC. The Learning Resource Centre Officer supports the day-to-day operation of the LRC
to ensure that it is a central and vibrant focal point of the campus to advance the learning
experience of students and teachers. The Learning Resource Centre Officer helps to ensure that
learning spaces foster the College's Positive Learning Partnerships Program.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Support the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the campus LRC_ _
- Support the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in implementing the College's
Learning Resource Centre Vision including ensuring that teachers and students accessing
the campus LRCs will find:_ _
- access to relevant and purposeful resources to support student achievement_ _
- support to enable them to be effective digital citizens_ _
- support to develop the skills to integrate multiple literacies from across the
curriculum
- support to use of information in a critical, ethical, and reflective manner
- help to expand communication skills, develop creativity and literacy skills to flourish
- staff who exhibit a cultural sensitivity to the digital environment and learning
resources

- opportunities to utilise learning spaces outside of school hours
- support to enhance pedagogy to cater for individual differences
- Support the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in promoting safe and responsible
digital citizenship
- Support the implementation of the online site for learning resources by adding content
recommended by teachers or the College Learning Resource Centre Manager
- Carrying out Purchasing Officer functions for a range of Learning Areas
- Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the physical space of the LRC
is commensurate to the needs of the contemporary learners, emphasising the importance of
independent and collaborative learning spaces and the Digital Learning Program
- Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the LRC fully embraces the
College's Positive Learning Partnerships Program
- Promote the LRC as an engaging, purposeful, innovative and welcoming environment for
students and staff
- Actively supervise students including ensuring attendance is managed appropriately
- Support individual students or small groups of students with strategies for accessing resources
- for their learning- Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the implementation of
direction from the College Learning Resource Centres Leader on the management of LRC
resources
- Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in organising, managing and distributing
LRC resources including the cataloguing of resources and execution of borrowing procedures
- Attend College Learning Resource Centres Team Meetings
- All other duties as directed by the College Executive Team in commensuration with the
position's classification
**Skills, Experience & Knowledge**:
- Relevant qualification
- First Aid qualification or willingness to complete relevant training
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Good time management skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative
- Confidence and skill in working positively with staff and students
- IT skills and a commitment to the ongoing development of further IT skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Workflow management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Understanding of relevant compliance regimes
- Commitment to occupational health and safety
- Understanding of and commitment to Catholic education
