About us:
Since Little Lane Early Learning Centre's launch in Melbourne in 2018, we have been providing quality early childhood education and care to the local community. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for children and families whilst delivering a unique Kindergarten Program that focuses on children's strengths and interests.
Little Lane's Montessori Children's House is a new service that has just opened September 2025 and operates within long day care hours to support the families and children of Doncaster, Melbourne, and surrounding areas.
The Role
Little Lane Montessori Children's House - Doncaster is seeking an experienced Montessori leader, to guide, inspire and drive the Montessori Principles and Practices that underpin the operation of a large Montessori community. You would hold a relevant Early Years Montessori qualification and have a passion and commitment to driving authentic Montessori practices. Experience in establishing a new service or set up is favoured, as is the drive and ambition to bring together a team of committed Montessorians in developing this new community.
As the Centre Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations. Your primary focus will be on leading, mentoring, and developing your team, while promoting best practices, driving continuous improvement, and engaging with the local community. Skills & Experience
Hold a Diploma in Montessori (0-3 or 3-6)
Hold a Diploma of Children's Services or higher
Current Working with Children Check (VIC)
First Aid/CPR/Asthma/Anaphylaxis certificates.
Must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.
Be able to establish and foster positive relationships with both families and staff.
Be an effective communicator and have excellent time management skills.
Familiarity with the Early Years Learning Framework, Childcare Act and Regulations, NQF, NQS and VEYLDF
Experience with Assessment and Rating
Experience with Opening a new service or Montessori Children's House would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Establish strong relationships with families and the community.
Manage the performance and success of your centre.
Oversee daily operations, including budgets, wages, rostering, and occupancy.
Lead, coach, develop, and support the professional growth of your team.
Advocate for the rights of every child within your centre.
Implement and evaluate quality programs that support the development of all children.
Maintain a high level of health and safety standards at all times.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
