Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHSAC) is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team.
This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe primary health care services across remote Aboriginal communities in the Big Rivers region of the Northern Territory.
About the Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the COO is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the organisation.
The role provides leadership across clinical services, workforce development, compliance, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Translating strategic goals into effective operational plans
Leading a multidisciplinary team and promoting a high-performing culture
Ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
Overseeing budgeting, capital planning and financial reporting
Building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Health Administration or a related field
5+ years' executive leadership experience in a health or community setting
Cultural competence and understanding of Aboriginal primary health care
Strong leadership, financial management, and compliance experience
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
Knowledge of ISO, RACGP, and NDIS accreditation standards
Postgraduate qualifications in governance, leadership, or health management
