Overview The Alcohol and Drug Services team is looking for a highly motivated Specialist Pharmacist (Casual).
The Team:Alcohol and Drug Services provides opioid pharmacotherapy, inpatient detoxification from alcohol and other drugs, counselling, smoking cessation, and detoxification in the home services to the Tasmanian community.
The Pharmacy team provide clinical pharmacy services to each of our teams across the state, with a focus on opioid pharmacotherapy provision.Work across a multi-disciplinary work environmentFocus on alcohol and drug pharmacotherapies, including daily medication dosing and inpatient withdrawal medication managementPharmacy opens every day including weekends and public holidaysThe Role:Work as part of a multidisciplinary team aimed at optimising patient outcomes by providing a specialist pharmacy service to the Pharmacotherapy and the Inpatient Withdrawal Unit of the Alcohol and Drug Service and other centres as required.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.You will need to:Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in the clinical area and act as a resource pharmacist for the particular area of speciality.Work within Alcohol and Drug policies for the provision of services to the Pharmacotherapy and the Inpatient Withdrawal Unit and dispense and dose for Pharmacotherapy patients on a daily basis.Dispense medications for patients being discharged from the Inpatient Withdrawal Units.
Provide information and education to staff and clients on Consumer Medication Information.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of appointment:Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
