Job Description

The Department of Health Tasmania's Alcohol and Drug Services offer a comprehensive range of treatments to individuals experiencing problems with alcohol and other drugs. This role will play a critical part in this team, working across a multi-disciplinary environment to provide specialist pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care in the clinical area and act as a resource pharmacist for the particular area of speciality.
  • Work within policies for the provision of services to patients undergoing pharmacotherapy and discharge from inpatient withdrawal units, including dispensing and dosing medications on a daily basis.
  • Dispense medications for patients being discharged from inpatient withdrawal units and provide information and education to staff and clients on consumer medication information.
Requirements
  • Registered pharmacist with the relevant authority.
  • Pre-registration (intern) pharmacists: eligible for provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the relevant authority or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
