**Ward Clerk - Bookings Office (Elective Surgery Reform Project)**
- Full-time (38 hours per week + ADO)
- Fixed Term Position for 6 months, with a possibility to extend

**About the department**
The Perioperative Service at the Royal Women's Hospital is a comprehensive dedicated department incorporating all aspects involved in surgical intervention for patients. The Elective Surgery Booking office is the central business unit of Perioperative Services, coordinating all elective surgical bookings.
The Elective surgery team are looking for clerical support to join their department for an exciting opportunity to work within the Patient Support Unit (PSU). Reporting to the the Elective Surgery Access Manager, this role will provide support to deliver rapid patient prioritisation and assessment for those on planned surgery waiting lists.
A key function of this role is to facilitate improved communication and engagement with patients waiting for planned surgery, while working closely with Nursing support within the project. The requirement of this role is to ensure each patient has timely access to treatment through greater visibility, improved reporting, and review of clinical requirements.
**About you**
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- Previous experience in hospital clerical/administration
- Competent computer literacy with focus on but not limited to; IPM, EMR and Microsoft office
- High-level data entry to ensure accurate data is entered on to the Women's Elective Surgery Waiting List
- Understanding of waitlist validation and ability to professionally communicate with all stakeholders
- Work within the guidelines of the DHHS Elective Surgery Access Policy (2015).
- Liase with the elective surgery team for reprioritisation of reviews/bookings/templates etc
- Well-developed time management communication and organisational skills with the ability to balance competing and conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to patient centred care
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
- High motivation and willingness to learn
- Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
- Ability to be agile and flexible, switching priorities as required

**Influenza Vaccination Requirement**
In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.
As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
