In this role, you will design, develop, and undertake activities and projects supporting the QOs as the oversight agency for the Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Act.
A key responsibility involves providing expert advice to public sector agencies regarding their obligations under the PID Act and Standards.
This includes offering feedback on PID policies and procedures, developing informational materials, delivering training to ensure compliance, and conducting research to support PID oversight functions.As the Senior Advisor, PID, you will:Provide expert advice to public sector agencies about their responsibilities under the PID Act and Standards, including guidance on assessment and management of PIDs.Research and create informational resources for diverse audiences about the PID Act and Standards.Develop and deliver training programs to promote compliance, including virtual training for designated PID officers and awareness sessions for other audiences.Manage information related to reported PIDs, including database administration, quality assurance, data analysis, and reporting.Conduct review and research activities to support PID oversight.You will be expected to:Model exemplary standards of integrity and ethics, demonstrating the Office's values in all interactions.Collaborate with team members, participate in meetings and training, and contribute to policy and procedural improvements.Support a culturally inclusive and safe workplace, valuing cultural identities and perspectives.Adhere to the QO Code of Conduct, workplace health and safety legislation, confidentiality policies, and all relevant policies and legislation.Meet personal performance expectations and standards.Undertake other duties as directed by senior officers.This position has relevant operational delegations.Our assessment of your suitability will consider your past experience, knowledge, abilities, skills, potential for development, and how you can benefit the Office.Within this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:Vision: Understanding of how the organization's role and purpose relate to their work, contributing to innovative practices, demonstrating sound judgment, composure under pressure, and knowing when to escalate issues.Results: Effective communication tailored to stakeholder needs, achieving results through planning and persistence, and fostering organizational performance via collaboration.Accountability: Working within legislative and policy frameworks, analyzing information, identifying risks, evaluating solutions, and striving for continuous improvement.Technical expertise: Knowledge of public administration, complaints management, relevant legislation, and the ability to quickly learn legislation such as the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (Qld).
Experience or knowledge of developing informational products and delivering online/virtual training.
Excellent interpersonal, liaison, and communication skills, capable of providing timely advice.
