Carer - Dorothy Boyt House, Malabar (Anglicare Sydney)
Location: Malabar, NSW 2036
Employment Type: Permanent part-time and casual positions available
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people? Do you have a caring nature and a desire to support others in living their best life? Anglicare's Dorothy Boyt House in Malabar is currently looking for compassionate and dedicated Carers to join our team and help support the wellbeing and dignity of our residents.
About the Role
As a Carer at Dorothy Boyt House, you'll play a vital role in supporting residents to live as independently and comfortably as possible. You'll assist with daily personal care tasks, offer emotional and social support, and contribute to a warm and respectful home-like environment.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance ID (or willingness to obtain)- A qualification recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework
About You- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent (essential)- Experience in aged care or disability support (highly desirable)- A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older people- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently- An understanding of the importance of dignity, independence, and person-centred care- Alignment with Anglicare's Christian values and mission
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding- Support mobility needs and provide physical assistance as required- Monitor and document residents' care, wellbeing, and changes in condition- Work closely with care staff and health professionals to ensure holistic care- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where residents feel safe and supported
