**Your new role**

**Facilitated Carer Coaching** is a one-to-one service that is carer led and directed. The coaching service aims to support **carers** to increase their individual capacity by empowering them to find practical, small steps towards self-identified goals. It involves the carer engaging with a coach to assist them to acquire skills and resilience to help them sustain their caring role.

You will be facilitating one-one-one coaching to carers, whilst creating an environment Carers will find welcoming, real and safe. Ensuring relationships with Carers are positive and are built on Wellways values as well as engaging professionally and positively with external and internal stakeholders.

This role will include travel to Lithgow during work hours as a requirement and staff will have access to a pool car during work hours.

**Essential Criteria**

The essential requirement of Coaches of our program includes the following:

- The ability to empower carers to understand their needs/goals and to make decisions and actions independently
- Level of awareness and empathy that allows Coaches to work with carers that may challenge their ethical opinions and values
- Active listening without judgement
- High degree of emotional maturity and resilience
- Understanding of trauma informed practices
- Ability to set boundaries and to seek support when needed
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive and optimistic outlook towards carers

**Desirable Criteria**

Non-essential but desirable requirements of Coaches for our program include the following:

- Experience in professional coaching
- Ability to articulate and share personal strategies for selfcare, safety and wellbeing
- Additional languages spoken
- An other aspects that can support establishing rapport
- Knowledge of carer services and common support systems such as the NDIS, My Aged Care and mental health services

**Pre-employment compliance requirements**
- Min Diploma in Coaching, Counselling, Community Services or related field
- Evidence of working rights within Australia (birth cert/passport/visa)
- Driving License
- National Police Check (12 months old) and Working with Childrens Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate - free online course
