**Job Description**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Territory Manager to join our Higher Education sales team. Your role will be to communicate information about our products and services to university lecturers to grow textbook adoptions. You will join a well-established and successful team in a role that offers autonomy and variety.
**What you'll be doing**:
Help us foster human progress through knowledge As a Territory Manager, you will:
- Proactively maximise and maintain adoptions and sales for frontlist and backlist textbooks in Victoria, SA and ACT
- Identify product opportunities from an extensive publishing list
- Effectively develop academic partnerships and create new sales opportunities
- Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships
- Travel to visit customers as required
- Identify and report on market trends and the business environment
- Collect and disseminate market, competitor and customer feedback
- Actively liaise with other departments or groups within the business to enhance T&F's coverage of the territory - including editorial, marketing and sales support
- Contribute to sales meetings and events to inform the Higher Education sales strategy
**Qualifications**:
**What we're looking for**:
- Previous experience and success working in a sales environment
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with the sales team and other internal colleagues
- Effective communication skills (and will be comfortable with written and verbal communication)
- Good analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- A commercial outlook with the ability to make recommendations to support sales targets
- A focus on customer satisfaction and service
- A good understanding of the Higher Education sector (you may also have a media sales or publishing background)
- Good digital literacy
- Administration skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively
- Organisational and planning skills with the ability to work independently and pro-actively

**Location**:
- You must have the right to work and live in Australia
- This role is open to applicants preferably living in Melbourne or wider Victoria to enable travel throughout VIC, SA & ACT
- Flexible working is offered with this role, be that home-based, in the office or hybrid, however, you will be required to attend in-person training and events at the Melbourne office
