**The opportunity**

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Operations Site Lead is responsible for developing, planning and coordinating EHS activities for the site, region and team. They are responsible for the management and engagement of employees, business partners, stakeholders as well as ensuring regulatory compliance and implementation of the EHS management system.

**Responsibilities**
- Planning, directing, and coordinating EHS activities through functional teams, and with direction of the EHS Manager
- Act as key EHS liaison with site leaders and business partners assisting in the execution of strategic and tactical EHS plans
- Coach, lead, and motivate EHS team mates and business partners to achieve EHS objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve safety skills & awareness
- Develops and documents comprehensive EHS management systems
- Leads interface with regulatory agencies
- Evaluates new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace hazards and environmental impacts
- Develop education and training material to support regulatory and business requirements
- Leads program reviews, investigations and provides corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
- Helps to establish a culture that is aligned with EHS objectives, with continuous EHS improvements

**Qualifications**
- A Tertiary qualification in EHS or similar, with 10+ years of EHS experience in an operational environment
- Knowledge of regulations and reporting requirements
- Demonstrates professionalism, passion for change, result driven
- Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently yet sees others as partners and essential team members
- Strong organizational and system implementation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound leadership coaching skills; investigative skills

**Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements. An NV1 Security Clearance will be required.**
