About this role:
The Environmental, Health and Safety Operations Site Lead is responsible for developing, planning and coordinating EHS activities for the site, region and team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, directing, and coordinating EHS activities through functional teams, and with direction of the EHS Manager
- Acting as key EHS liaison with site leaders and business partners assisting in the execution of strategic and tactical EHS plans
- Coaching, leading, and motivating EHS team members and business partners to achieve EHS objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve safety skills & awareness
- Developing and documenting comprehensive EHS management systems
- Liaising with regulatory agencies
- Evaluating new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace hazards and environmental impacts
- Developing education and training material to support regulatory and business requirements
- Leading program reviews, investigations and providing corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
- Helping to establish a culture that is aligned with EHS objectives, with continuous EHS improvements
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A tertiary qualification in EHS or similar, with 10+ years of EHS experience in an operational environment
- Knowledge of regulations and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated professionalism, passion for change, result-driven approach
- Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently yet sees others as partners and essential team members
- Strong organizational and system implementation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound leadership coaching skills; investigative skills
