Senior Structural Engineer

Discover Your Next Role As a Senior Structural Engineer at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant structural engineering services across all strategic areas and factory operations.
You will be a key member of our centralised engineering design team, overseeing both internal and external design efforts to ensure that all assets and resources meet business objectives as well as legislative and regulatory requirements.
This position offers flexibility in location, allowing you to be stationed at any of our milling sites or within our Townsville office.
You could be in Ingham - a charming town known for its vibrant Italian heritage and lush wetlands, the Burdekin region - celebrated for its rich agricultural landscape and friendly community, or Sarina - nestled in the beautiful Whitsunday region, renowned for its stunning beaches and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef.
Your Role in Action Structural Design & Analysis: Conduct structural assessments and calculations to ensure integrity and compliance with relevant standards.Project Collaboration & Delivery: Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver design solutions that meet scope, timeline, and budget.Standards, Tools & Compliance: Maintain engineering standards and tools to ensure regulatory compliance and design quality.Professionalism & Industry Alignment: Promote ethical, safe, and sustainable engineering practices in line with industry standards.Continuous Improvement & Compliance: Review design activities for compliance and drive improvements in systems and workflows.Leadership & Technical Mentorship: Guide the design team, providing technical leadership and promoting a professional, ethical culture.Coaching & Development: Mentor engineers to build capability in structural design tools, calculations, and processes.
Your Winning Combination Our ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline and bring 5 to 10 years of structural engineering experience, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
They will be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or hold RPEQ registration in the structural engineering discipline, demonstrating a strong understanding of engineering principles and compliance standards.
Ideally, the candidate will also have experience using structural design software, with a preference for SpaceGass, and possess a background in project management with a proven ability to deliver projects within defined scope, timeframes, and budgets.
Experience within the sugar industry will be highly regarded, along with a proactive and collaborative approach to engineering challenges.

The indicative salary package for this role ranges from $120k to $130k per annum.
