Senior Structural Design Engineer Position

Career growth and a strong pipeline of diverse projects are key aspects of this role. As a Senior Structural Design Engineer, you will work on high-rise, commercial, and education projects with a well-established consultancy.

The Opportunity

Based in Canberra, you will be part of a collaborative engineering team working across a wide range of projects. Your tasks will include assisting with structural design and documentation, performing design calculations under supervision, preparing sketches, and contributing to modeling and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with structural design and documentation
  • Performing design calculations under supervision for reinforced concrete, steel, and other structural systems
  • Preparing sketches, mark-ups, and contributing to modeling and documentation
  • Supporting coordination with architects, services consultants, and other disciplines

You will also attend site inspections and support senior engineers with technical queries, stay up-to-date with relevant design standards, codes, and best practices, and contribute to a positive team environment.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 3+ years' structural engineering experience in the Australian market, a relevant engineering degree (Structural or Civil), and working knowledge of design software such as ETABS, RAPT, RAM, or SpaceGass.

Additionally, you should have a solid understanding of Australian building codes and design standards, good communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
