Overview
UGL's Fuels and Energy East business is looking for a talented
Civil Structural Engineer
to lead and innovate across brownfield and asset maintenance projects within the Fuels and Energy sector. Reporting to the Lead Civil Structural Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers and designers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient technical expertise to the business.
Responsibilities
Produce technically acceptable design deliverables and calculations, ensuring accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and good engineering practice.
Ensure safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, standards, reviews, risk assessments and risk management.
Apply detailed knowledge of Australian and International codes and standards, good engineering practice, and statutory requirements for fuel tanks and piping works.
Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, underpinned by thorough technical analyses and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
Utilise software tools such as Spacegass, 12D, and Civil 3D for design and analysis tasks.
Capably handle multiple brownfield projects within restricted timeframes to support line of business and project goals.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Client, Key Stakeholders and the UGL Team.
Site Duties
Carry out inspections, condition surveys and investigations on site to determine civil/structural work scopes.
Develop and provide design solutions to civil/structural issues on site.
Provide technical advice and suggestions for improvement on projects.
Liaise with Project Delivery Leads, contractors and supervisors.
Assist in the development of construction methodologies.
About You
Relish Brownfield Engineering challenges with the ability to provide value engineering.
Self-driven with the ability to deliver a portfolio of small projects with limited guidance.
6+ years of engineering design exposure, particularly in the resource, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.
Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Australian Citizenship.
Registered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ qualifications are highly regarded.
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
