Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Nepean Hospital is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Officer to join our dynamic Respiratory Medicine team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital diagnostic services that support the health and wellbeing of our local community.
As a Scientific Officer, you will perform high-quality respiratory function testing and contribute to the operation of our Lung Function Laboratory. Your work will play a crucial role in the diagnosis, monitoring and management of respiratory conditions across a wide range of patient groups.

What You Will Bring To The Role
A degree in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with the equipment and methods/procedures for measuring a variety of high-quality cardiopulmonary investigations as part of the newly formed Critical Care and Cardiopulmonary Research unit.
Demonstrated attention to detail and administrative skills.
Time management and organisational skills.
Ability to solve problems.
Commitment to excellence and continuous quality improvement.
Possession of the Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) Credential issued by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
