Role Highlights
Performing high-level treatments on outstanding works of art on paper.
Actively participating in exhibition installation, loans, and condition checks.
Undertaking preventive conservation activities for the CISF Transition Project.
Role Details
The Paper Conservator provides paper conservation services for the extensive collections of the Art Gallery of SA, SA Museum, History Trust of SA, State Library of SA, and Carrick Hill, as well as for fee-for-service clients.
Preventive conservation activities include intensive IPM, collection packing, and relocation activities for the Cultural Institutions Storage Facility Transition Project.
Special Conditions
The incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
The incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
This role requires a National Criminal History check.
Provision of services on-site at client locations and some out-of-hours work will be required.
Intra and interstate travel may also be required.
Essential Qualification
Degree in Conservation of Cultural Material or equivalent, specialising in paper conservation.
