Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paper Art Specialist to provide expert-level paper conservation services for our extensive collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-level treatments on outstanding works of art, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to exhibition installation, loans, and condition checks.

About the Role

The Paper Art Specialist will work closely with our team to undertake preventive conservation activities, including intensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM), collection packing, and relocation activities for our Cultural Institutions Storage Facility Transition Project. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level treatments on outstanding works of art on paper.
  • Participate in exhibition installation, loans, and condition checks.
  • Undertake preventive conservation activities, including IPM, collection packing, and relocation activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Conservation of Cultural Material or equivalent, specialising in paper conservation.
