**About the role**

Reporting into the Investment Director - Strategy & Implementation, the Strategist will contribute to the State Investments research programme and the development of investment management processes. As an experienced member of the State Investments team the position requires active communication and contribution both within State Investments and across QIC.

The role encompasses assisting in the management, research, and portfolio construction of State Investments portfolios with a predominant focus on building out tactical asset allocation strategies across public markets (predominantly equities, fixed interest, currency).

Other key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Development of Directional and Non Directional Tactical Asset Allocation strategies within both a systematic and fundamental framework.
- Development and monitoring of risk & portfolio management metrics to inform top down portfolio decision making.
- Work collaboratively with the QIC execution team to assist with Active Implementation: Assess the merits of implementation options for various market exposures including bonds (futures/Swaps/physical), FX (basis swaps).
- Working closely with other State Investment Team members to identify portfolio enhancement opportunities with associated internal recommendations and execution of these strategies.
- Provide oversight and assistance with the development of any analysts/associates who report to the Director Strategy and Implementation.

**About You**:
You will have an understanding of portfolio construction and asset allocation. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will see you thrive. You will also:

- Have had several years experience in Public Markets/Multi Asset roles.
- Excel in time management skills and be able to meet multiple deadlines.
- Have strong attention to detail and ability to cast a critical eye over all work.
- High level of mathematical aptitude and quantitative skills (with coding skills highly desirable)
- Self-motivated and a strong desire to develop and grow.
- Ability to work independently when allocated a task, seeing this through to completion.
- Keenness to understand QIC clients with a view to becoming a client facing role within State Investments.
- Collaboration within the State Investments team and broadly across QIC teams.
- Engage in and lead research projects as directed.
