- With more than 3,000 people working around the world and offices in eight countries, the physical safety of the Canva team and workplaces is of paramount importance. As the Head of Physical Security, your role is to create a safe and positive working environment for Canvanauts while embracing the company's values of inclusion and belonging. You will design, develop and manage company safety and physical security programs and operations across all corporate sites and also for remote team members. You will also develop and implement company response protocols for physical safety issues, such as natural disasters.- This is a new role at Canva, and will be responsible for evaluating and improving our physical security and employee safety processes and controls, and aligning with the information security group on the protection of digital assets and data.- You will work in a cross-functional capacity with members from the Vibe, Security, Real Estate, Workplace Experience, Finance, Communications, People Operations, IT, and Leadership groups.- This role is based out of our Sydney office, with travel to other offices required as necessary.**What you'll be doing**:

- Managing service delivery from Canva's global physical security partners
- Developing and maintaining systems to measure process performance against established standards and metrics
- Reviewing and improving physical security controls and processes across our global offices, making mitigation recommendations where risks are identified
- Developing and improving training programs to instil a culture of safety and security across the team
- Developing crisis management protocols and leading post-incident reviews to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Liaising with relevant law enforcement & governmental agencies in preparation for and during physical security and safety incidents

**About you**:

- Proven success in Security/Facilities management with direct responsibility for physical security in a multi-site corporate environment
- Expertise in managing physical security vendors and contracts
- Track record of building and leading teams of direct employees and vendor contractors in delivery of high-calibre security and safety services
- Experience leading the response to physical security or safety incidents, including post-incident reviews and continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially during crisis situations
- Leads with empathy
