**About the role**
The Parent Outreach Support Worker position reports directly to the Manager, Community Wellbeing based in Ashburton. This is a key role that provides an early intervention response to first time and new mothers assessed as vulnerable in their parenting, with a focus on but not limited to mothers experiencing or at risk of mental health challenges. This role requires travel throughout the City of Boroondara as we provide support to mothers within their own home environment.
**What you will be doing**
- Provide an outreach support service to vulnerable new mums across the City of Boroondara
- Deliver a flexible outreach response, which could include client engagement, risk assessment, counselling, parenting strategies, information, advocacy, and referral
- Provide group facilitation when required
- Risk management
- File management
- Engage and network with internal and external stakeholders
**What you will bring**
- Key Selection Criteria_
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood, Psychology or related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in delivering a casework or counselling practice in an outreach setting
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with clients in the areas of mental health, child and baby development and parenting (especially of babies and infants)
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Must have a valid driver's licence
