**About the role**:
The department is embarking on a journey of new ways of delivering its ICT services. Changing our tooling, frameworks and operating models will be critical to this. The Database Administrator will assist the Client in embarking on these new ways.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Design Microsoft SQL databases, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services reports, Microsoft Analysis Services multi-dimensional cubes to analyse and present data for various departmental stakeholders, developing and managing database scripts to convert and fix data within operational database and managing and performing code reviews against coding standards and departmental requirements to ensure compliance.
- Prioritises and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures, investigating causes, seeking resolution and escalating unresolved incidents. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures
- Undertake analysis and, where required, preparation of proposals for management on matters raised, identifying potential problems and range of solutions and their technical viability, providing technical leadership, expertise and advice and overseeing or contributing to ensuring deliverables are completed.
- Develop and implement standards, guidelines, strategies and processes to ensure efficient maintenance and delivery of information technology that is aligned to departmental and whole of government business development, reporting and escalating issues

**Highly Desirable**:

- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and collaboratively in a large scale, matrix managed organisation
- Demonstrated ability to document and communicate effectively to stakeholders with various levels of digital literacy with the ability to adjust communication style and approach dynamically.
