The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Bitumen Tanker Maintenance Technician to join our team.
This hands-on role involves working with specialised equipment essential to road construction operations.
Your responsibilities include maintaining and repairing bitumen tankers to ensure safe, efficient operation in compliance with standards.

The Tasks Ahead
As a Technician, your main focus will be ensuring reliable and safe operation of bitumen tankers used in road construction and surfacing projects.
Conduct routine inspections, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance on tank systems including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components.
Maintain heating systems to keep bitumen at optimal temperature during transport and unloading.
Carry out welding and fabrication repairs, monitor and calibrate temperature and pressure controls.
Ensure safety, environmental, and transport compliance standards are met.
Work in both workshop and on-site settings to support operational readiness and minimize downtime.
About You
Mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge
Experience with burner systems and pipework
Welding and fabrication skills
Understanding of hazardous materials handling, especially hot bitumen
Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance
Key Requirements
Routine maintenance of bitumen tanks and equipment
Inspect and repair heating systems (diesel burners, LPG systems)
Service hydraulic systems for loading/unloading
Check insulation and tank integrity
Clean and flush tanks to prevent buildup
Test and calibrate gauges and sensors
Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs
Ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance
