- Customer Service Officer Inner West Council are seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer to work within the contact centre, front counter and administration departments.
- The role will be assisting in providing friendly, responsive, accurate and consistent information to the Inner West diverse and growing community.
- You will have experience across a broad range of customer service and administration skills including superior customer service, excellent communication and within a dynamic, high volume and multi-channel team.
- Key duties and accountabilities
- Provide friendly, responsive, accurate and consistent information, advice and service
- Develop positive and collaborative working relationships within the team
- Meet and/or exceed customer service targets
- Manage customer request for service, enquiries and complaints and provide appropriate solutions
- Manage all incoming customer calls
- Accurately record customer requests
- Undertake front counter responsibilities
- Receipting of payments, end of day balancing and reconciliation
- Remain knowledgeable of Council Services, programs and events
- Act as a positive and professional ambassador of Council
- Provide back administration support to other areas as required or instructed

Selection Criteria Essential- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across multiple functions within a customer service team
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Exceptional presentation and verbal communication skills
- Superior active listening skills, ability to show empathy and build rapport with a diverse range of customers
- Commitment to the principles of multiculturalism and willingness to engage with a culturally diverse community
- Able to complete a police check

Desirable- Relevant qualification
- Experience in cash handling and end of day processes
- Ability to speak a second language
