Overview
The Land's Edge Foundation is a leading provider of outdoor education, curriculum-linked field studies, and meaningful experiences that connect schools, groups, and the public with the natural and cultural heritage of Sydney Harbour and beyond.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised
Education and Experiences Coordinator
to oversee the planning, administration, and delivery of our
Saltwater School
programs: field studies, school holiday activities, and group experiences.
About the Role
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on coordination to ensure smooth delivery and continued growth of Saltwater School programs and activities. You will be responsible for
Coordinating bookings, activities, curriculum-based field studies, and school holiday programs
Developing and overseeing education programs that are curriculum-aligned and engaging
Managing client relationships, ensuring high-quality communication and delivery
Supporting marketing strategies to grow participation and expand offerings
Assisting with staff rostering, training, and mentoring
Overseeing administration including budgets, invoices, accounts, and reporting
Ensuring safety, compliance, and high-quality standards across all programs
Support training and developing staff in outdoor recreation activities to build capability across the team
Supporting the Foundation's mission to create equitable access to outdoor and environmental education for diverse communities
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Strong administrative and planning skills – highly organised with an eye for detail
Background in education (teaching, curriculum design, or outdoor learning) – highly desirable
Experience in outdoor recreation activities and the ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
Strategic thinking and business growth mindset, with the ability to develop new offerings and expand reach to schools, groups, and the community
An interest in, or experience with, charitable and community programs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, comfortable balancing office work with occasional field-based responsibilities
