The Role
A highly skilled, innovative and experienced educator is sought for a full-time fixed term replacement position based at our Junior School (boys), Essendon Campus for the 2026 school year. Classroom teachers work collaboratively with colleagues and assist in the development of a curriculum that supports student care and wellbeing and the school's culture of a thinking school.
This position is commencing from 27 January 2026 to 11 December 2026.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
relevant experience as a generalist classroom teacher
expertise in the curriculum and in current pedagogical thinking;
a commitment to student care and well-being;
an understanding of and commitment to teaching single sex classes; and
support for the school's values, including support for a broad co-curricular program.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and hold VIT registration.
The School
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3000 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East. We have outstanding staff, facilities and programmes to enhance student wellbeing and learning and develop creative, caring and critical thinkers.
The School provides a diamond education, with a co-educational Kindergarten programme, single-sex education at the Junior Schools and Middle Schools from Years 7 to 10 and co-education at the Larkin Centre (Years 11 to 12).
PEGS promotes the safety, wellbeing and participation of all students, including supporting children from culturally diverse backgrounds and those with individual needs.
