Volunteer Board Member Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our volunteer board as a non-executive director. As a member of the board, you will play a crucial role in guiding the direction of our organisation and ensuring that we continue to uphold our values and mission.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social context of the Pacific region. If you have a strong commitment to environmental causes and a passion for governance, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
To ensure that our organisation's mission remains clear and relevant in an ever-changing world.
To provide guidance on setting the direction of the organisation.
To monitor and review our programs and activities to ensure alignment with our mission and achievement of short-term goals and long-term purpose.
To oversee executive performance by setting objectives and performance indicators for the CEO and regularly reviewing their performance.
To ensure that the organisation obtains and uses the necessary resources to carry out its mission and sustain it.
Requirements
A deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social context of the Pacific region.
Sufficient time to commit to the board's work (approximately 15-20 hours per month).
Experience in environmental or social movements and/or governance is desirable but not essential.
