Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our volunteer board as a non-executive director.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our organisation while gaining valuable experience in governance and leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social context of the Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the organisation's mission remains clear and relevant in an ever-changing world.
  • Provide guidance on setting the direction of the organisation.
  • Monitor and review programs and activities to ensure alignment with our mission and achievement of short-term goals and long-term purpose.
  • Oversee executive performance by setting objectives and performance indicators for the CEO and regularly reviewing their performance.
  • Ensure the organisation obtains and uses necessary resources to carry out its mission and sustain it.
Requirements
  • A deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social context of the Pacific region.
  • Sufficient time to commit to the board's work (approximately 15-20 hours per month).
  • Experience in environmental or social movements and/or governance is desirable but not essential.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our organisation and develop your skills in governance and leadership.
