**About the Role**:
Our Infrastructure and Major Projects team are looking for an experienced **Environment, Approvals and Sustainability Lead **to provide leadership and technical advice across our Projects nationally.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Manage and provide leadership, technical advice and input on Environment, Approvals and Sustainability aspects across a national precontracts portfolio from market sounding through to contract award and project launch
- Manage and coach a team of in-house specialists and consultants to ensure appropriate resources are allocated to each pre-contracts phase
- Support the resourcing, set-up and inclusion of Environment, Approvals and Sustainability requirements during project mobilisation and launch, including the onboarding and management of consultants
- Ensure John Holland adopts robust due diligence and risk management processes and understands and meets its contractual, regulatory and legal environmental obligations
- Work closely and build strong working relationships with our internal precontracts and Business leaders.

**Further Responsibilities**:

- Support the development and implementation of systems, modelling and data flows to enable accurate accounting of Carbon and associated climate change targets from pre-contracts through to project start-up
- Develop, manage and lead the continual technical improvement of precontracts and Project launch management systems
- Liaise with government bodies and professional organisations on environmental and sustainability matters
- Assist Project launch with post approvals, CEMP development, license and permit attainment and construction readiness

**What You'll Need to Succeed**:

- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
- A minimum of 6 years Construction Environment, Approvals and Sustainability Management experience / or significant Senior Environmental and Sustainability experience working across infrastructure projects and pre-contracts.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build effective and strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
