We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join The Royal Melbourne Hospital.Emergency Department Social Worker - Grade 3The Royal Melbourne HospitalPart Time Ongoing position availableJoin a busy and vibrant Emergency Department at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City CampusSalary packaging, Close to Public transport and Discounted onsite Car parkingThe Emergency Department (ED) Social Worker is a valued member of the ED team who provides holistic care, assessment and brief intervention, practical support, and discharge planning for patients with complex psychosocial needsThe ED Social worker is an essential member of an interdisciplinary team that includes ED Care Coordinators, Emergency Mental Health (EMH) and Addiction Medicine (AOD) clinicians, Medical and Nursing staff.Provide patient and family care using an advanced understanding social work theoretical, alongside trauma-informed and consumer directed practice.Provide appropriate secondary consultation and support to clinicians within the ED regarding child and family risk issues to achieve high quality and safe outcomes.Provide targeted and evidence-informed grief, loss and bereavement support for families and loved ones within a multi-disciplinary approach.Benefits Of Joining The Royal Melbourne HospitalCareer progression opportunities to suit your professional development goals.Enjoy excellent work-life balance working in a supportive and collaborative teamSalary packaging + ADOs for full time staff + central location, onsite car parkingComprehensive Health & Wellbeing Programs including; On-site staff gym, Staff Medical Service, Employee Assistance Program, Peer Support Program - run by our dedicated employees.Your New RoleProvides quality patient focused and consumer – directed care through competent, evidence-based clinical skills relating to assessment, interventions, and discharge planning.Ensure direct reports receive regular feedback and participate in annual discussions.Contribute to organisation-wide and service/division initiatives and planning activities.Ensure training needs of direct reports are identified and undertaken.Ensure risk management activities are completed, effective controls are in place and incidents are recorded, investigated and corrective actions implemented as far as is reasonably practical.Create a psychologically safe work environment where everyone feels safe to speak up.
