W Brisbane located at 81 N Quay, Brisbane City QLD 4000 is hiring a Sommelier. We are looking for a trained, experienced sommelier with a strong knowledge and understanding of food and wine who has a genuine passion and love for the hospitality industry.
WSET and or CMS education is preferred but not essential however a passion for wine and service is. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a diverse, dynamic team and availability during nights and weekends is required. This is a hands-on role with focus on service delivery.

You will be a trained wine professional responsible for curating, managing, and presenting the W Brisbane wine program to enhance the overall guest experience. You will work closely with the culinary team to develop wine pairings that complement the menu, provide expert advice to guests on wine selection, and oversee the proper storage, service, and inventory of wines.
- Experience as Sommelier / Wine Waitstaff in a fine dining and/or high volume restaurant
- Strong knowledge in local, national and international wine
- Passion for wine and the industry
- Exceptional service skills
- Excellent communication and organisation
- Ability to assist in the day to day operations
- Adaptable, flexible and able to work in a high pressure environment
- Possess a valid Certificate of Responsible Service of Alcohol
- WSET or CMS qualification or equivalent advantageous
- Available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
