OverviewDestination 2045 is the Queensland Government's bold plan to deliver Queensland's tourism future and position us as a global tourism leader.
The plan aims to double the value of visitor expenditure to the state's economy to $84 billion by 2045 and deliver lasting benefits to Queensland communities.We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role.

Responsibilities
Build a culturally trusted relationship with Indigenous people and liaise, negotiate, and develop effective networks with senior internal and external stakeholders (including government agencies, industry, and business associations) including Indigenous businesses, Prescribed Body Corporates, regional tourism organisations, local tourism and small business networks, and Traditional Owners.
Act as the interface between Indigenous peoples/businesses and government for the commercial development of Indigenous tourism experiences, including delivery of workshops, engagement activities and collaborative projects to support Indigenous tourism outcomes.
Help Indigenous businesses and the Indigenous experience sector with clear guidance on framing their vision and pathway to success and securing collaborators and support on that pathway.
Respond to issues related to Indigenous tourism in the region, including emergent public-facing matters that require positive negotiations and engagement.
Showcase Indigenous tourism success stories, including preparing case studies.
Contribute to the development and delivery of programs that foster the economic development of the tourism industry, with a focus on business development of Indigenous tourism operators and experiences.
Participate in and lead (as appropriate) multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver timely responses to tourism industry programs and initiatives and represent the department at interdepartmental and interagency meetings and forums as required.
Represent the department and Government at regional, state and national forums to enhance Queensland's economic competitiveness and performance in tourism industry development and innovation.
Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and contribute to better outcomes for First Nations communities through our work.
Travel within southern Queensland (from Rockhampton to the Gold Coast and western Queensland) and may require travel to other locations from time to time, including overnight stays.
