Animal Emergency Service (AES) is one of Australia's leading emergency and critical care referral centres. We deliver world class emergency veterinary medicine and gold standard patient care. Our AES Underwood clinic is always bustling with exciting cases and an energetic atmosphere.
**About the Role**
We're seeking a motivated Hospital Coordinator to join our Underwood clinic on a fixed-term, part-time basis. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of our veterinary clinic, particularly on weekends and public holidays. You'll be instrumental in ensuring smooth, efficient functioning, focusing on non-clinical operations while supporting a high standard of animal care.
Reporting to our Operations Manager, this role is part time with approximately **40hrs per fortnight on a 4-month fixed term basis (possible extension).** Please note this role will include 10hour Saturday shift, 10hour Sunday shift and public holidays.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Operational Oversight**: Manage patient intake, admissions, and discharge processes, ensuring effective coordination of staff and resources.
- **Team Leadership**: Supervise clinical teams, maintain best practice standards, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- **Compliance & Safety**: Oversee safety standards, manage workplace incidents, and ensure adherence to Workplace Health & Safety guidelines.
- **Communication**: Act as a liaison between the hospital leadership team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- **Customer Service**: Address and resolve client experience issues, ensuring a positive experience for both clients and patients.
**About You**
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience in staff coordination, rostering, and people leadership.
- Background in Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Proven ability to manage operations efficiently and make informed decisions in emergency settings.
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining high levels of productivity and morale.
- Available for Saturday and Sunday shifts
