Lead Strategic Priorities in Catholic Education
The National Catholic Education Commission is the peak national body for Catholic schools in Australia, leading advocacy for school education and funding. As a strong and influential organisation, we work closely with state and territory Catholic education commissions and other stakeholders.
This role involves driving key strategic priorities related to faith and mission. Your work will focus on enhancing the capacity of Catholic school communities to be places of faith and mission. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the implementation of NCEC's strategic priority at a national level.
Main Responsibilities
Drive strategic priorities for Catholic education in Australia, focusing on faith and mission.
Contribute to national education policy development related to mission and faith formation.
Build and maintain constructive relationships with state and territory Catholic education commissions, government bodies, and relevant organisations.
Promote a culture that reflects the teachings and values of the gospel.
About You
You have:
A strong personal commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
A thorough understanding of the Catholic Church, Catholic education, its mission, challenges, and opportunities to foster faith within school communities.
Tertiary qualifications in theology, teaching, and management, with a focus on Faith Formation and Religious Education (FFRE) in the Catholic education sector.
Extensive operational, leadership, and executive management experience within a systemic school system in a Catholic diocese or religious congregation.
Experience developing and implementing evidence-based policies supporting faith formation of school leaders, staff, students, and families.
Proven ability to implement strategic priorities and achieve related outcomes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging clergy, religious, schools, families, government, and communities.
Demonstrated leadership skills to energise, mobilise, and inspire teams to achieve goals.
Background or experience in faith formation and religious education.
