NOVA Entertainment also owns and operates Australia's feel-good station, Smooth FM in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, the talk station FIVEAA in Adelaide, Star 104.5 on the NSW Central Coast and the DAB+ stations - Smooth Relax, Smooth 80s, Smooth Vintage, Nova Throwbacks, Nova 90s, Nova Nation, and Coles Radio.
Our values are integral to who we are.
We believe in creating and working in an environment that supports Unwavering Unity, Relentless Curiosity and Radical Empathy.
The Role
Like any digital team you were to work in, there'll be no shortage of things for you to get stuck into, work on and learn about.
This means that each day you come to work you'll get the opportunity to help shape the state of data throughout our business – a huge opportunity, we know
Super exciting if you want to be part of a growing team and get hands-on experience in an environment of curious learners.
This is a diverse role so you very much get a shot to show us what you can bring, with an opportunity to create your future here at Nova.
What you will be doing and what skills you may have
Collaborate with Isa, our Data Lead, who has a deep understanding of where all our data lives and is constantly improving how we capture more data points, speed up access, and enhance data quality.
Partner with Mohan, our Data Engineer, to transform analytical ideas into automated processes and robust datasets, powering business dashboards and reports.
Work alongside Duncan, our Product Manager, to analyse data from our mobile apps, websites, smart speakers, and future digital touchpoints — driving insights that guide product enhancements.
Collaborate with Civic and Chana on Commercial Data Products, assessing targeting performance, campaign results, and revenue impacts to optimise advertising outcomes.
Build relationships with the broader business, adapting your communication style to different audiences, and making complex analysis clear, actionable, and relevant for non-technical stakeholders.
In summary: You'll need to integrate yourself into a very dynamic, forward-thinking, and fun team where you'll become part of the crew.
Don't worry we've got a crew of 500+.
Perform data analysis to support business performance tracking, including regular and ad-hoc reporting, building new data flows, monitoring data quality, and maintaining data integrity.
Work with a wide variety of data sources and platforms — learning how they operate, integrating them where needed, and uncovering opportunities for improvement.
Use strong technical skills (Advanced Excel, Basic SQL, and solid Power BI skills) to query, clean, and transform data into meaningful datasets for analysis.
Apply analytical thinking to interpret trends, patterns, and correlations, using statistical techniques where relevant.
Communicate insights clearly by translating complex findings into actionable recommendations and compelling data stories for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
To be successful in this role
We are looking for someone with relentless curiosity, who is not afraid of the unknown and ready to dive into challenges.
This is a hands-on role to support delivery of data.
You'll be comfortable working on data reporting and presenting insights to assist decision making.
Media or advertising experience isn't mandatory but is a plus if you're familiar with industry metrics.
Some hands-on experience working with data, either through internships, projects, or previous roles, ideally involving data processing, cleaning, and basic analysis.
You hold a degree in science, engineering, IT, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
You're comfortable working with data analysis and visualization tools — or eager and quick to learn new ones.
When your brain clicks on for work, you're thinking about what you can do, not what you can't.
You are curious about how things work in the backend and complex problems are your favourite.
You are a self-starter, goal oriented and able to work well and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
You communicate clearly, welcome feedback, and use it to continuously improve your work.
You enjoy working collaboratively, asking questions, understanding existing flows and suggesting ideas.
You don't take life too seriously and can have a laugh, even at yourself.
Open and self-aware, you believe in building to grow and like the opportunity to spread your wings.
Hopefully what we're throwing out sounds a little bit different, but we're moving quickly so don't miss an opportunity to secure a chat with us – from there it could all be history.
To support & reward your success in this role we will offer the successful candidate
This is a hands-on role that will lead to personal and professional career development
A high-performance culture where you will work amongst a team that prides itself on being engaged, dynamic and able to leap over any obstacle put before it
Exclusive early bird access to the biggest events & concerts across Australia
Additional leave days: Anniversary & Loyalty leave, Give back Leave, Mental Wellbeing days
Access to Learning and Development programs & internal opportunities
Access to health and wellbeing initiatives (Nova's Life+ & Employee Assistance Program, mental health training programs)
Amazing employee benefits from a huge variety of partners nationally (we don't want to boast, but it is a lot)
