Responsibilities
As a Business Development Representative, your main goal will be identifying and closing new business opportunities for local experiences on the Groupon platform. From day one, you'll receive hands-on professional sales training, learning the skills needed for long-term success. Our comprehensive training program will cover everything from customer relationship building to sales strategy, sales psychology, and more. You'll use these skills to grow partnerships and scale businesses, from local gems to well-known brands.
You'll spend your time on the following:
Seeking out new business opportunities by targeting SMB merchants offering local experiences, using cold calling, consultations, and closing deals.
Developing a deep understanding of each merchant's business, including their experiences, target demographics, competitive advantages, and revenue drivers.
Applying deal structure and strategy knowledge to achieve both Groupon's and the merchant's goals, maximizing profitability.
Leading contract negotiations, including managing margins, discounts, and other key terms.
Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Working closely with Merchant Development teams post-sale to ensure smooth
