**Position Information**:
Mawarra Public School is situated in Elderslie adjacent to the town of Camden, on Dharawal country and has a current student enrolment of 370 students.

The school strives for consistent excellent academic achievement. Mawarra is recognised for providing experiences for its students in extracurricular activities such as; school band, choir, drumming, dance, cheerleading, sport, chess, public speaking and debating. The school community is supportive, appreciating the quality education and many extra-curricular opportunities offered. They are enthusiastic participants and willingly contribute in all aspects of school life in order to provide the best possible school experience for our children.

1. Strategic leader who builds staff and executive capacity to drive improvement, innovation and change through the effective implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan.

2. Highly visible, approachable leader with outstanding interpersonal skills. emotional intelligence and strong communication practices to foster a positive school environment that supports student and staff wellbeing, community engagement and success.

3. Instructional leader who builds the capacity and expertise of teaching and learning through a strong focus on collaborative practices and collective efficacy across the school.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
