**Position Information**:
Eschol Park Public School is located in South West Sydney and serves a diverse community. It is part of the St Andrews Network of schools for the Department of Education. 372 students are enrolled at Eschol Park Public School where students from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) make up 39% of the school population and 11% of students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The school and its community have high expectations of students and value the provision of a variety of learning opportunities. The school prides itself on its inclusive and supportive environment where all students, teachers and parents are valued as integral to the learning process. Continual monitoring of student performance data determines areas of need and success at class and school level. The whole community was involved in the development of the school strategic directions. Through the situational analysis, the school identified three focus areas for the Strategic Improvement Plan: Student growth and attainment, strengthening our Professional Learning Community and forming Strong Partnerships within the community.

- A highly visible, empowering and responsive leader who demonstrates excellence in leading strategic decision-making and highly effective, evidence-based initiatives to enhance school improvement and student achievement.
- Demonstrated capacity to proactively communicate and visibly engage with the entire school community in authentic and transparent ways that are culturally sensitive with a strong commitment to strengthening valuable partnerships with parent/carers and the wider community.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and evaluate whole school quality teaching and learning with a sustained focus on evidence-based practice improving student progress and performance in literacy and numeracy.
- High levels of emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to genuinely engage, maintain and support strong partnerships with students, staff, parent/carers and the wider community to drive data informed practices.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
