The purpose of this role is to position and elevate profile and key messaging in the media through effective PR activities.

**More about the role**

Reporting to and supported by the Brand and Engagement Lead, this busy and exciting role will see you working in collaboration with colleagues across marketing, communications and engagement; policy and advocacy; research, information and evaluation; programs and partnerships and directly with the leadership team.

As part of an outward-facing organisation, you'll love working in partnership with other organisations, experts, academics, government, the media and consumers to develop key messages and tell the stories which raise profile and help make change.

You will be responsible for:

- driving PR and media activity in line with organisational strategy
- develop and execute ideas to increase earned PR, increase profile and influence
- end to end media management including pitching and coordinating opportunities
- effective and timely reactive media management
- extending all media and PR activity to the organisation's Twitter presence
- developing key messages and content for use across various channels
- supporting and advising media spokespeople
- fostering relationships with key partners and allies towards joint media and PR activities
- managing relationships with industry spokespeople, identifying opportunities to actively grow this network
- work closely with your engagement colleagues to access and tell stories of lived experience in media and PR activity
- provide advice and guidance on risk management, support issues management
- media monitoring, tracking and reporting on media value
- partner with individual consumers and groups on campaigns and events.

You're a positive, versatile and proactive PR and media professional with an interest in health, environment and social issues.

Energetic and driven, you're keen to make your mark and grow in this exciting role and organisation.

You want to do work with impact, but with your emotional intelligence and healthy dose of humility, you work in a team for a bigger purpose.

You're naturally consultative, open to feedback and can embrace highly collaborative ways of work.

You might be working in a PR or comms agency or an in-house role, either way you live and breathe media and enjoy the role Twitter plays in PR.

You're a strong communicator on and off the page and have the ability and appetite to distil large amounts of information into clear messaging, content and engaging stories.
