Our Cowaramup Abattoir has grown significantly since inception, supplying both the domestic and international markets.
About the role Western Meat Packers is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Site to lead our abattoir operations in Cowaramup, WA.
As Head of Site, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our production facility, ensuring efficient and effective operations that deliver high-quality products to our customers.
This is a full-time role based in Cowaramup, WA.
What you'll be doing Provide overall leadership and management of the manufacturing site, including production, maintenance, health and safety, and quality control Develop and implement operational strategies to drive continuous improvement, optimise productivity, and enhance customer satisfaction Oversee the development and execution of production plans, ensuring targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Manage and develop a team of skilled production, maintenance, and support personnel, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment Identify and implement innovative solutions to address operational challenges and drive operational excellence Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, policies, and procedures Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align operations with broader business objectives Provide timely and accurate reporting on site performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth What we're looking for Extensive experience (8+ years) in a senior manufacturing or operations management role, preferably within the meat industry Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement Thorough understanding of production processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment Financial acumen and the ability to develop and monitor budgets, analyse performance data, and make data-driven decisions Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels Tertiary qualification in operations management, or a related field is highly desirable What we offer At Western Meat Packers, we are committed to providing a rewarding and supportive work environment for our employees.
