**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Supervising Technician (Engineering Precinct) to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.

The Supervising Technician - Engineering Precinct provides operational management of, and leadership for, the Engineering Precinct Technical Team. The position sits within the broader Technical Services and Space Team, within the Faculty of Engineering. The role is responsible for the management and deployment of technical resources to ensure safe and sustainable laboratory operations. The role will oversee delivery of technical support services that underpin the faculty's research and, learning and teaching programs. The position will also assume project management responsibilities for a range of technical projects.

**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a postgraduate qualification, in conjunction with at least four years relevant experience in managing technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead and manage an effective team, including monitoring performance, providing feedback, managing workload, and identifying training needs.
- Demonstrated project management experience to effectively oversee and deliver complex technical projects.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability that enables critical evaluation of systems, processes, and mechanisms of failure.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working partnerships at all levels of an organisation, including with individuals whose first language is other than English.
- Demonstrate ability to display initiative, contribute new ideas and proactively contribute to the development of a thriving team culture.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise workload to meet competing deadlines and manage an allocated annual budget.
- Proven ability to provide a strong focus on health, safety and the environment while maintaining client deliverables.
