The Biostatistics team at The Kids supports a wide variety of health and wellbeing research projects being led by passionate researchers. It is a key research-enabling platform that makes statistical expertise readily available to researchers, with the aim of providing them with a comprehensive experience from study design through to data analysis.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Biostatistician to work with our researcher's providing study design advice and analytical support, ensuring their data is structured and analysed appropriately to provide data driven insights, helping us on our mission to improve the health, development and lives of children.

Reporting to the Manager, Biostatistics, this encompassing role will see you (in a consultative framework) liaise with a wide range of people across the Institute and beyond, including students, professors, clinicians and health professionals to provide them with the statistical expertise and guidance, and the analytical capacity to deliver high-quality research outputs.

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

- Liaise with researchers to develop statistical analysis plans, including estimate resourcing requirements
- Carry out analysis on research data using a reproducible research framework (typically selecting the appropriate statistical methodology to apply).
- Preparing clear summaries of analysis results, including the preparation of results materials for publication in collaboration with the engaging researchers.
- Assist in the reporting of results (writing peer-reviewed manuscripts).

Based at Perth Children's Hospital, this role will be offered as a full-time position for 2 years.

**About You**

Along with this you must be able to demonstrate the following;
- Proficiency with statistical software packages for the manipulation and analysis of data (strong preference for R skills).
- Experience with clinical trials data, modelling hierarchical and/or longitudinal data, analysis of linked health data, modern classification and regression techniques or any form of data mining.
- Knowledge of principals or experience in implementation of reproducible research and/or data science.
- Ability to liaise with health researchers from a range of backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Good time and project management skills, including maintenance of open communication regarding project progress; an ability to take responsibility for own work.
