The Opportunity Intake Allocators provide operational support to ensure timely allocation of clients to appropriate services.
Reporting to an Assistant Director, the Intake Allocator is responsible for managing the regional allocations queue, reviewing intake assessments, liaising with clients and clinicians, and facilitating the referral process.
The role also involves conducting intake assessments for counselling, including family and domestic violence screening, and maintaining a small clinical workload.Key Responsibilities Manage the regional allocation queue, including oversight, review of assessments, liaising with clients, and matching them to appropriate clinicians.
Conduct intake assessments for couples and family counselling, including risk and domestic violence screening.
Provide counselling intake assessments for internal referrals when required.
Maintain a small clinical caseload as agreed with the Assistant Director.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clinicians and administrative staff.
Participate in community engagement, service promotion, evaluation, and research activities.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical policy, and procedure development.
Key Skills and Capabilities Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide trauma-informed, holistic, client-centred intake and assessment.
Ability to conduct clinically appropriate intake assessments, formulate risk assessments, and take appropriate action.
Sound judgement with the ability to respond calmly and effectively in critical incidents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in IT systems and confidence in navigating software and digital tools.
Mandatory Requirements Eligibility to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check.
Relevant qualifications and registrations: Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR Social Worker with AASW membership, OR Masters-level Counsellor with PACFA Clinical Registration or ACA Level 3/4 membership.
Desirable Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Eligibility Applicants must be Australian citizens.
Employment is subject to pre-engagement screening and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
