Skywood Nominees, operating the Kalgoorlie Overland Motel and Miners Rest, is on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Functions & Events Coordinator to bring energy and deliver high-quality events across our venues in the vibrant gold mining town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.This role is all about coordinating a mix of public, corporate, and community events from enquiry to wrap-up.

Creativity, design, and fun are at the heart of this roleOur VenuesLocated just off the Kalgoorlie-Boulder town centre, the Kalgoorlie Overland Motel and Miners Rest are buzzing hubs for locals and travellers alike.
Together, we offer around 185 rooms, an on-site pool, gym, and multiple function spaces.We host a huge mix of events — comedy shows, sporting nights, charity fundraisers, corporate functions, and weekly crowd-pleasers like Crack the Case, Chase the Ace, and Quiz Night.
With a combo of à la carte and buffet dining, we regularly feed over 300 guests per day and play a big part in the local hospitality scene.About the Role -What You'll Be Doing:o Coordinating functions and events from initial enquiry through to successful executiono Converting leads into confirmed bookings to increase annual performance.o Managing bookings, client correspondence, and event details with precisiono Collaborating with the kitchen, bar, and operations teams to ensure seamless deliveryo Assisting with ideas and rebuilding of promotional activities and event marketingo Delivering well-organised, memorable events that leave a lasting impressionWhat We're Looking For:o Minimum 5 years hospitality experience in a similar role, senior level preferred.o Proven experience in events, functions, or hospitality coordinationo Excellent communication and customer service skillso Exceptional sales skills to chase new leadso Solid computer literacy and booking system know-howo Sharp organisational abilities and a proactive attitudeo Ability to manage multiple events and deadlineso Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and public holidays as needed.o Friendly team player who's also confident working solo when neededWhat we offer.Heavily subsidized shared furnished house accommodation including utilities.Sponsorship opportunities - 6 months probation and review required.Overtime paid for every hour worked after 38 hoursMeal provided whilst on shift.Use of company cars if neededAccess to on site gym and poolCareer growth within the companiesThink you're the right fit?
