We're seeking a dynamic Manager (Network Analysis) to lead a team focused on identifying transport network deficiencies and recommending high-impact solutions. This role is pivotal in shaping investment priorities across the state-controlled road network and beyond. You'll work closely with stakeholders, balancing complex factors to deliver timely, evidence-based recommendations. Your advice will span a broad range of infrastructure issues, with a strong emphasis on strategic fit, value-for-money, and long-term investment planning.
In the role of Manager (Network Analysis), you will lead a team in undertaking analysis of transport network deficiencies, evaluating proposed solutions and recommending courses of action which deliver the best outcomes for Queensland.
Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include
Provide technical analysis inputs for the development of investment guidelines to support strategic transport network investment plan and strategies.
Prepare or evaluate transport system submissions under the Infrastructure Australia Assessment Framework and other Australian or Queensland Government funding programs.
Investigate and resolve complex issues associated with funding submissions relating to planning, programming and technical matters.
Prepare and maintain detailed prioritisation frameworks, including methodologies and systems for determining road network enhancement investment needs for Queensland's state-controlled road network.
Evaluate capital investment needs to optimise performance of the transport network and ensure strategic fit with federal and state transport portfolio investment objectives and value-for-money frameworks.
Provide technical input into high-level advice for senior and executive management related to correspondence, briefing and other requests raised by external and internal stakeholders.
Support the Investment Program Manager (Strategy) to determine long-term unfunded program priorities for the Bruce Highway Upgrade, National Land Transport Upgrade and State Road Network Upgrade Investment Programs.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders in managing expectations.
Participate in project teams developing strategic network investment plans, comprising internal and external resources.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated sound knowledge of engineering standards and principles as they apply to the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure.
Ability to make sound judgements requiring consideration of technical, stakeholder, funding and other considerations.
A working knowledge of Queensland's transport network and an understanding of the associated funding context.
The ability to provide clear recommendations in a dynamic environment requiring rapid evaluation of complex quantitative and qualitative data and assessment of multiple other contextual factors.
Ability to collaborate broadly and synthesise approaches / response to achieve the best overall transport outcome for the department's customers and other stakeholders.
Proven ability to be flexible and undertake a range of roles and activities in a small highly productive, multidisciplinary team to ensure the success of the broader organisation and a demonstrated willingness to contribute to a positive team culture.
While not mandatory, registration as a Registered Professional Engineer or Queensland (RPEQ), or inter station/international equivalent is highly desirable.
