**About the role**

The role is responsible for the provision of effective management and leadership to the Aviation and Critical Services HSEQ department and to provide practical, hands-on HSEQ systems management and support to operations in order to assist in the facilitation of the highest practical standards of safety, environment and quality performance and regulatory compliance.

You will champion the HSEQ management systems and Babcock culture, through assisting the Head of HSEQS in the development of safety promotion, education and training tailored to the Aviation and Critical Services operation and provide resourcing guidance to the Head of HSEQS in relation to the HSEQ Department structure, programs and initiatives.

**About You**

You will be a highly experienced leader managing multi-disciplinary teams and providing safety management services within high risk or high reliability industries
- aviation operational, flight experience or aircraft maintenance.

You are experienced in conducting operational HSEQ audits, leading accident/ incident investigations, conducting trend analysis as well as facilitation of operational risk assessments.

This, along with a sound knowledge of Civil Aviation Safety Authority and WH&S legislation, and Operational Risk Management will see you successful in role.

Qualifications and experience required:

- Vocational or Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or Quality Management (or other relevant field)
- Qualification as a Lead Auditor
- Safety Investigation qualifications such as ICAM or Aviation Accident Investigation
- Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment (Desirable)
- Have the necessary experience to be assessed as competent by CASA to hold Safety Manager Appointments in accordance with CASR Part 119, 141 and 142 requirements
