
Senior HSEQ Specialist

The position of HSEQ Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's commitment to Safety and Quality Compliance. As part of this team, you will be responsible for overseeing Health, Safety and Environment policies and practices, as well as managing the Quality Management System for business processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting HSEQ Goals and Objectives, including reducing workplace injury and illness, improving employee wellbeing, customer satisfaction, and Right First Time performance;
- Providing expert advice on risk management and developing training programs to enhance knowledge in HSEQ;
- Leading the ionising radiation safety program and radiation protection methodology;
- Coordinating emergency preparedness processes and ensuring personnel are trained and resources are available to support the organization's response capability;
- Collaborating with Manufacturing and Quality leadership to establish controls for detecting, correcting, and preventing nonconforming materials, parts, and products;
- Working closely with the quality, R&D, and engineering teams to implement plans for project and product quality;
- Ensuring that business processes conform to divisional and departmental policies, national and international codes, and applicable safety requirements;
- Conducting internal and remote audits and inspections, assessing remedial actions, and driving continual improvement in processes and products;
- Reporting on HSEQ management systems performance and projects to improve and streamline processes.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification in EHS, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field;
- A minimum of five years working within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality or EHS role;
- Demonstrated experience working with auditable management systems and an understanding of ionising radiation hazards is preferred;
- Proven interpersonal skills and communication across all levels of an organization;
- A consistent record of balancing multiple priorities and meeting objectives in a fast-paced environment;
- Adaptability to working independently and in multidisciplinary teams, with proficiency in leading projects;
- A personal dedication to high standards of work with attention to detail and initiative;
- Understanding of Australian Work Health and Safety legislation;
- Proficiency in ensuring Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials compliance;
- Sound understanding of risk management principles and methodology.
