Due to expansion of the business, we now need a talented
**Development Team Leader or Tech Lead** wishing to take the next step in their career to join our team on this exciting journey.

The Team Leader is responsible for the high-quality output and continuous improvement across the Engineering Teams. Operationally, they are joint-accountable with Operations for ensuring system uptime, incident preparedness and incident management. They provide guidance on technical issues and work closely with software engineers and other senior technical staff to deliver technical solutions. They provide technical and people leadership, overseeing all Development functions and reporting on progress and results

**Role duties and responsibilities;**
- Work with scrum masters to protect the scrum teams from interruptions
- Lead the Engineering teams with technical expertise, promoting best practices and in some instances directly contributing to team duties
- Provide mentoring and technical development of team members
- Assist with prioritization of work within sprints
- Planning and refining technical work for development teams
- Work with QA to utilise Automated Testing frameworks where applicable
- Continuously assess risks, monitor changes and ensure mínimal disruption
- Take ownership of team issues and drive decisions on appropriate course of action
- Provide blueprints of technical innovations and identify new opportunities for improvement, including POC's
- Maintain accountability for the quality of team output
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the core SaaS products (platform, features, API)
- Define and implement microservices including infrastructure monitoring and resiliency
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders as appropriate

**To be successful you will have;**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Engineering or similar
- A proven ability to lead a teams technology choices in an agile software development environment
- Some experience in dealing with automated CI/CD workflows and agile processes
- In depth knowledge of Software Solution Design with the experience of working with container solutions
- An understanding of modern software design practices.
- High experience in developing unit tests and functional tests.
- The ability to audit, assess, monitor and take ownership of existing processes and workflows related to incident preparedness, backups and disaster recovery.
- The ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience as required
- The ability to work methodically to tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Experience in creating and managing microservices
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of products (Bitbucket/Confluence/Jira)

This role will be looking after 3 offshore teams (13 staff in total). The role is technically focused and no direct management is involved (only mentoring and direction). Occasional after hours work will be involved but mínimal as the offshore teams are in a similar timezone. The position comes with full flexibility of hours and for the right person a fully remote option will be approved. The position is 80% Back End and 20% Front End focused therefore we seek someone strong in either PHP/Laravel and/or React. Domain experience within the Real Estate Industry will be very highly regarded but is not essential.
