Asset Accounting opportunity to work with the WA state government.

**Your new company**

A major State Government department based in the Perth CBD is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant with Assets experience to join the finance team as soon as possible. Initially, you will be engaged on a temporary contract for 3-6 months, working full-time hours and paid at a competitive hourly rate. There is a possibility for this temporary contract to be extended.

**Your new role**

As an Asset Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Capital projects and assets commissioned, accounting for yearly expenditure and expenses transferred.
- Leased assets, interest and depreciation expenses
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders relating to assets
- Month and year-end close processes

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate previous experience in Asset Accounting, in addition to:

- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and Finance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Large organisation experience
