Assistant Principal Mission - St Joseph's Primary School, Wauchope Full-time permanent position c ommenc i ng 27 January 2026 Overview of school:Wauchope is located on the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
It is within the boundaries of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council area.
Wauchope is inland on the Hastings River and the Oxley Highway 19 km west of Port Macquarie.St Joseph's Primary School, Wauchope serves the evangelising mission of the Catholic Church - to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.In the Diocese of Lismore, Catholic parish schools have responded to historical, religious and cultural contexts for over 150 years and continue to do so today, in this case, serving the community of Wauchopeand its surrounds.

A holistic approach also acknowledges each student's unique physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs.Applicants must:hold a valid NSW Working with Children Checkhave full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)be a practising Catholic who witnesses to Catholic beliefs and practices.Selection Criteria:Relevant teaching and postgraduate qualifications at Master's Level in Religious Education /Theology / Pastoral Ministry, or willingness to obtainCompliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment.
This includes beginning appropriate study courses in regards teaching Religious Education (Category D) and Leadership (Category E)Broad experience in Religious Education / Pastoral Care and/or Pastoral Ministry andleading collaborative culturesDemonstrated ability to integrate Catholic beliefs and practices into all aspects oflearning and teaching, including Catholic Social TeachingDemonstrated high levels of organisation, communication and problem-solving skillsExperience in leading initiatives that focus on improving mission, engagement andwellbeing outcomes for all studentsSuccess in building the capacity of teachers for School Evangelisation and discipleshipformationDemonstrated ability to lead processes to develop effective, engaging and innovativeschool evangelising community (including Student Evangelisation and Catechesis)Demonstrated ability to create and maintain inclusive, supportive and safe learningenvironments.Your application should address the criteria above.Referee Reportsare required from shortlisted candidates who have been invited to interview.
